I started my career working in Public Relations and Publishing. As much as I learned in the corporate setting, I knew I wanted more. I wanted the freedom to run with my creativity. I wanted to write, strategize, and assemble impactful projects for others. I wanted to contribute to business owners’, founders’, brand’s success stories. 

It was then when I left the corporate world, started my family, and began to freelance write for clients. They were all clients from industries I love - fashion, bridal, beauty, wellness, fitness, travel, ecommerce, etc. This was the start of my lifestyle freelance writing career. 

I quickly grew a long list of clients through referrals and recommendations. Eventually, I was doing much more than just freelance writing clients. I began dabbling in content marketing, content strategy, design/branding, copywriting, and editorial management. Many years later, I’ve now mastered all these elements of content services. It’s immensely rewarding to now be able to help clients with all aspects of their content, branding, and marketing needs.

Professionally, my first love is, and will always be writing. It’s my art form. But, as I’ve evolved in my career, I have also fallen in love with other areas within media. Above all, I have fallen in love with helping professionals bring their creative visions to life. It’s a great feeling to see others succeed, and know you contributed to their growth and success.

I created Charlene & Co. as a way to showcase some of my work, and make some of my services more accessible to purchase for current and potential clients. But, more so, I created this platform with the intention of helping other entrepreneurs, creatives, and freelancers advance in their careers as well. And, because I sincerely believe in the power of teamwork, my intention is to help others grow professionally, with the collaborations of other expert entrepreneurs. Hence, the name Charlene & Co.

Who is Charlene?

I am someone who doesn’t settle for anything. I always work towards more, because success is limitless. I believe this not only for myself, but also for my clients, my team, and all the people we’re helping. My biggest takeaway from my work is seeing other creatives, and aspiring entrepreneurs shake away all their limitations, and run free with their career or small business goals. And when I see it come to life, that right there —--- that’s the most rewarding feeling.

QUALITY WRITING

If I had to describe my writing in one word, it would be versatile. As a person, I love dabbling into anything that sparks my curiosity. And, that’s a LOT of different things, subject matters, etc. I am very open minded, so I enjoy learning about everything, and exploring the unexplored. This has allowed me to have the capability to create quality content on so many distinct subject matters/topics. I can write up share worthy fashion/beauty articles, just as well as inspiring parenting articles. I can also adapt myself to write in any tone/voice. Of course this all depends on the context the client wishes to have within his/her publication.

GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND

Aside from writing, I also pride myself in the development of effective marketing and social media tactics. Over the years, working with such a diverse group of clients, I have come to know what strategies work best for different niches and audiences. I believe in the power of full on creativity when it comes to marketing strategies, as it sets your company, website, magazine, etc. at the highest bar of exclusivity.

MY WORK ETHIC

When it comes to my work ethic, nothing is more important to me than honesty, transparency, and communication. I always make it a priority to keep clients well communicated, through every single project. I seek clients who are just as keen as I am, when it comes to honesty and communication. This sets a tone of respect between both parties, which will continuously lead towards successful projects.

ON A MORE PERSONAL NOTE…

I was born in Miami Beach, Florida, and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I’m a woman, who is always walking with her head up, looking ahead for a new and exciting challenge consistently. Eventually, I followed my heart and moved to New Jersey to be close to my college sweetheart. A few years later, we married, and have two amazing boys. We now live in New Jersey.

I have worked for one of the world’s largest publishing companies, done PR work for highly acclaimed organizations, but always came back to my passion of Freelance Writing. I thrive on letting my mind run wild on paper, (or on a blank doc on my laptop 🙂 ). When I write, I write with one main goal in mind….to inspire. Nothing gives me greater gratification than hearing my readers tell me that I inspired them, triggered an epiphany, or motivated them in some way. That is my mark on people’s lives, and there’s nothing that makes me more proud and grateful.

Final Thoughts

Through my many years of experience, I have fallen in love with all things related to digital creation. I have to thank all of my current and past clients, because they have all helped mold my visions for branding, marketing, design, and influential editorial. It has truly been the most amazing journey to work with such a vast variety of companies/industries. I take sincere pleasure in sharing my creativity for your company’s growth.
